I don't think most people in the US realize just how much crazier the hidden fees on discount European airlines are. 4am trips to airports in the middle of nowhere to catch easyjet flights, losing half a day to go to madrid's airport to pay vueling (they wouldn't accept my foreign credit card, even for a fee, and anyway there was another separate charge for paying in cash), fees to use the bathroom on ryanair. I'd never have thought I'd say this before flying Europe's budget carriers but we've actually got it pretty good in the US!
