About me

I’m Tiffany Hawk, traditionally published author, freelancer for places like the New York Times, National Geographic Traveler, and NPR, and now I’m on a mission to help other writers.

My clients have landed agents and publishing deals with big New York houses (Hachette, Penguin Random House) and literary or niche presses (Unnamed Press, Steerforth, Oceanview, Travelers Tales); they’ve self published award-winning and Amazon bestselling books; and seen their stories in places like Harper’s, the Los Angeles Times, Narratively, McSweeney’s, and The Atlantic.

And we all started with vague ideas we weren’t sure had legs.

It’s time to stop waiting and wondering. This idea deserves your attention.

 What my clients are saying…

Tiffany was hands down the best coach I have ever hired—and I’ve had a number of them. She zeroed in on my goal for my memoir and helped me execute it perfectly. I am forever thankful for her patient ushering me into this world of publishing!

Before working with Tiffany, I had almost given up hope of securing a traditional publishing for my memoir. Tiffany was a godsend, holding my hand through the process of creating a polished proposal. Her encouragement and keen editorial eye gave me the confidence I needed to keep going. She directed me to the best agents for my project, and cheered me on when the proposal requests and offers came in. After two weeks of querying, I landed the perfect agent for me.

Tiffany was AMAZING!

She was able to understand where I was stuck in my book proposal and give me concrete small steps so I could move forward and complete this important yet giant task. She understands what needs to be done and explains each part clearly. I loved her follow up emails after each of our sessions, so I knew what I needed to do and did not get overwhelmed by the whole project. I’m so thrilled to be sending out my query letter and book proposal, especially now that two of the agents I queried quickly asked for the whole proposal. If you want to work with best, hurry to sign up with Tiffany before she has no spaces left!

I loved working with her. She broke a giant project into weekly steps and encouraged me to keep going until I finished...and ended up with a literary agent!

When I was stuck in the middle of a partially completed manuscript, Tiffany got me to ‘The End.’ I feel lucky to have worked with a published author who really understands storytelling. My work is richer and more nuanced as a result.

Transformative.

Tiffany was able to discern a unifying story arc to a book that I had intended to just be a series of stand alone short stories. She counseled me on how to create a bit more depth to character development and setting without bogging down the plot. Her per chapter analysis provided helpful advice and counsel without smothering my ‘Voice’.

Her ongoing communication was prompt and clear.
As a first time writer, she deftly kept me grounded with the necessary critiques while still instilling in me the confidence that I had a bonafide product that was worth the heavy lifting of continued revisions.

It’s hard to be any more effusive without it sounding like I’m on her payroll or being blackmailed by her. So, I’ll stop here. I am grateful for her indispensable expertise. THANK YOU.

Before working with Tiffany, I’d queried agents and gotten no response despite having the opening chapter of my book published in a major journal. I’d thought my query and synopsis were good but thanks to Tiffany, they were SO much stronger. Thanks to Tiffany, within weeks, seven agents had requested my manuscript!

Tiffany also gave me incredible notes on my opening three chapters which have streamlined the story and improved the book. She is positive yet completely honest, a perfect combination for a coach and editor. I am grateful she took me on.
